An editorial overview. The sequence shows mission phases, not a city map drawn to scale.
Identify the phone and the objective chain
Start Gangsta Bang, the first Liberty City chapter, and use the leftmost of the four phones in South Park. Phone 1 identifies that position; later chapters reuse the numbering. You first collect an abandoned Mundano, deliver it, answer another call and only then collect Crazy Jimmy in a prepared taxi. The first garage visit is not the end of the assignment. Use a controllable car for the initial journey and avoid beginning with an unnecessary police pursuit. Vehicle and objective changes matter here; purchasing a particular personal weapon is not required.
Remember the locations and vehicle changes
The original district labels help distinguish successive objectives. Dulli’s garage and Bubby’s final garage are separate deliveries.
| Stage | Location and landmark | Required vehicle or interaction |
|---|---|---|
| Start | Four South Park phones | Answer the leftmost receiver on foot. |
| Mundano | Northeast Park, northeast of the starting area | Take the indicated blue Mundano. |
| First garage | Dulli’s in West Park, on the park’s western side | Drive that Mundano into the garage. |
| Follow-up call | Park Subway in the southwestern Park area | Answer the station phone; do not take a train. |
| Taxi | Alley in Southeast Island City | Collect the supplied taxi with false plates. |
| Pickup and finish | South Park bank → South Island Heights | Let Jimmy board, then take the taxi to Bubby’s garage. |
Step by step
After each acknowledged handover, read the next instruction. The arrow supplies a general bearing rather than an automatically drivable road route.
- Answer the leftmost South Park phone. Use your approach car to travel northeast to the blue Mundano in Northeast Park, then change into the marked vehicle.
- Take the Mundano south and then west through or alongside the park towards Dulli’s West Park garage. Preserve it: another passing Mundano is not a replacement for the required mission car.
- Drive into the open objective garage and wait for the new message. This is only the first delivery. Turn your attention to Park Subway rather than returning to the four starting phones.
- Reach the station in southwestern Park and answer its phone on foot. The early pressured section ends at this conversation; delivering the Mundano alone does not replace the call.
- Head south towards Island City. The documented taxi approach uses the southern bridge connection, then turns west before the following bridge and south into the alley by the I sign. Locate the indicated taxi there.
- Change into that taxi. Its prepared plates are part of Jimmy’s bank job. Do not confuse it with the separate mission-triggering taxi in North Park.
- Return north along the main-road connection and back into Park towards the South Park bank. Brake before Jimmy, leave room beside the taxi and wait for him to board and give the next instruction.
- Take Jimmy to Bubby’s destination in South Island Heights. A previously explored route through the park can avoid traffic and police blockades; do not discover an unfamiliar shortcut with your passenger already aboard.
- Drive the occupied taxi into the indicated destination garage and wait for completion. Dropping Jimmy somewhere in South Island Heights does not perform the required delivery.
Timing and a clean pickup
Historical documentation particularly identifies the Mundano/Subway passage as time-sensitive. Plan Dulli’s handover and the follow-up call together, and follow the displayed timer rather than assuming an identical number of seconds across PC and PlayStation releases. Jimmy needs a controlled stop, not an additional button trick: give him space beside the vehicle and do not move away while he remains outside its door. If a police blockade blocks your return, a familiar side route is preferable to repeatedly ramming the same narrow opening. Taking a detour does not replace reaching the actual bank or garage objective.
Troubleshooting
When the chain stalls, check the most recent objective that was actually acknowledged.
| Symptom | What to check |
|---|---|
| No progress after Dulli | Was the required Mundano accepted? The next interaction is at the Subway phone, not one of the starting phones. |
| A taxi gives a different assignment | Check that you collected the Southeast Island City cab. The North Park taxi starts separate vehicle work and does not replace Jimmy’s prepared car. |
| Jimmy does not board | Check the marked bank area, the correct taxi and a stationary position beside him. Keep the wheels and front of the car clear of your passenger. |
| Correct district, no completion | Find the specific South Island Heights garage and drive in with Jimmy. Reaching the district label alone does not finish the handover. |
| The job has already failed | A destroyed required car, Jimmy’s death or a missed timed stage cannot be undone by collecting an ordinary replacement vehicle. |
Repeating the job, saving and common questions
The original game does not offer an arbitrary mid-chain save. Chapter/profile progress is different from saving immediately before Dulli’s garage. Failed jobs remain unavailable for the current chapter run, so begin Gangsta Bang again for a deliberate new attempt at this chain. First practise the section that caused trouble. Emulator states and added save features are not part of the original mission system.
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Return to the start after the first garage? | No. The next receiver is at Park Subway; that conversation supplies the taxi stage. |
| Get out and fight at the bank? | That is not an objective. Your role is to collect Jimmy as his driver and deliver him to the destination garage. |
| Does losing this job automatically end the chapter? | No. The chapter uses a score target, so other scoring opportunities can still help. They do not restore the failed phone job. |
| Does this cover Game Boy Color? | No. It covers original PC GTA and PlayStation. GBC is a separate adaptation; controls and dialogue are not transferred to it. |
Checked against a historical PlayStation FAQ, the original PC manual and mission-specific PC dialogue/route documentation. No firsthand playtesting claimed; no unverified seconds, reward figures or GBC applicability.
