Prerequisite and the actual objective
Supply Lines... is Zero’s second RC assignment in San Fierro, following Air Raid. His strand is optional for the story ending but counts towards 100% completion. You control an armed RC Baron and must eliminate five courier groups: three delivery vans, a BMX courier and a Sanchez with its occupants. They are not five enemy aircraft. Afterwards, return the Baron to Zero’s rooftop. From the beginning, monitor the remaining radar targets, the fragile aircraft’s condition and the fuel gauge. CJ’s personal weapons or a fast road vehicle do not substitute for completing the RC objectives.
Fuel: identify the release before following a trick
Some contradictory advice comes from real version changes. Playing on a PlayStation alone does not identify the fuel calculation.
| Release | Practical consequence |
|---|---|
| Early original PS2 release | Fuel continues decreasing in flight even while gliding without throttle. Treat it as a tight time budget. Long unpowered glides are not a dependable fuel-saving solution here; shorten journeys and attacks. |
| Classic PC/Xbox releases and revised PS2 Second Edition | Historical firsthand guides document the revised calculation: releasing acceleration while gliding conserves fuel. This still does not justify unnecessary circuits; you need height, control and a return route. |
| The Definitive Edition | The targets and rooftop return are documented in a separate remaster mission video. Its fuel formula has not been checked patch by patch here. Transfer neither an original-PS2 duration nor guaranteed gliding savings to your release; check its gauge during straight flight with and without throttle. |
Identify the five targets in this example route
This sequence clears the three nearby targets before the two farther north/northeast. It follows a contemporary route description. Couriers move, so these are identifying features rather than permanent parking locations or official target numbers.
| Order | Target | Identification and approach |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | First delivery van | The van in the immediate starting area near Zero’s shop. If its driver gets out, follow the remaining person/marker. |
| 2 | BMX courier | The nearby cyclist in the same local group. Line up the small target before firing rather than repeatedly flying past it in wide circles. |
| 3 | Second nearby delivery van | The other van in the Garcia/Hashbury local group. Use a straight road alignment rather than a tight junction for the attack. |
| 4 | Occupied Sanchez | The farther motorcycle group towards Downtown. Its armed passenger makes a prolonged pursuit particularly dangerous. |
| 5 | Remaining delivery van | The third van in the farther northern/northeastern group. Check its current radar position; it does not wait at a fixed finishing location. |
Step by step through the courier sequence
Other published routes begin with the distant targets. The important principle is a connected sequence adjusted to actual positions, instead of crossing San Fierro repeatedly after each kill.
- Check the flight controls and five red targets at launch. Remember Zero’s roof as the finishing point. Gain the height needed for the buildings and obstacles on the next section, rather than climbing unnecessarily.
- Attack the first nearby van from a stable direction. If the driver leaves it, line the gun up on him and wait for the elimination to register. A damaged or abandoned vehicle alone may not clear that target.
- Turn towards the nearby BMX courier. Put the cyclist ahead of the aircraft’s nose along a usable firing line. If the marker remains, locate the rider before leaving for another objective.
- Clear the second nearby van along a straight street. If airborne aiming is difficult, land at a safe distance and fire from a lined-up position. Do not wedge the Baron between the target vehicle, a kerb and a lamp post.
- Fly towards the farther Sanchez in the Downtown direction. Prepare the attack before your fire provokes a getaway. Once shooting starts, finish the encounter promptly and account for the motorcycle’s occupants.
- Locate the last van through the remaining radar target and use the same controlled alignment. Connecting targets is useful; circling streets you already cleared is not.
- When all five groups are confirmed, stop attacking immediately. Follow the return instruction to Zero and begin lining the Baron up with the rooftop while you still have room to correct.
- Reach rooftop height before the building edge, level the wings and reduce speed for a shallow approach into the objective marker. Touch down and wait for Mission Passed before treating the attempt as complete.
Budget for the return and the rooftop landing
The fifth target ends the attacks, not the mission. Using the entire fuel supply on that target still leaves the return unfinished. Choose a clear approach to Zero’s roof rather than the shortest line through a narrow gap. If a street attack leaves you on the ground, first line up with a clear straight section, accelerate and climb, then turn. A sharp turn immediately during takeoff creates another avoidable crash risk. Leave enough distance to line up the final approach. Arriving too high forces another circuit; arriving too low sends the aircraft into the facade. In the early PS2 release, the time pressure continues during that approach even without throttle.
Change the part that actually caused failure
Record which target or section lost the attempt. This walkthrough does not rely on a universal ground-driving, reverse-driving or unlimited-gliding exploit.
| Symptom | Useful correction |
|---|---|
| Five attacks but a red marker remains | Check an escaped van driver or the motorcycle’s occupants. Confirmed courier eliminations count, not the number of vehicles you shot at. |
| The Sanchez escapes or shoots the Baron down | Begin from a stable firing position. Avoid the first speculative burst from far away that starts a long, dangerous chase. |
| Fuel runs out before the roof | Remove search loops and identify your edition. Do not apply a blanket gliding fix to early PS2; make the return flight an explicit part of the plan. |
| Crash during takeoff or landing | Line up first, then climb or descend. Practise that transition deliberately rather than correcting an unstable approach with ever larger inputs. |
