Vice City Stories: prepare Vic for the opening assignments
Understand swimming, specialist vehicles and the later business empire.
Establish dependable basics first
Vice City Stories resembles Tommy Vercetti’s city, but takes place earlier and emphasises different systems. Vic can swim; that does not make falling into water automatically safe. Find the nearest reachable beach or exit rather than sprint-swimming without a destination. Learn the location of your available accommodation and save regularly. Briefly suspending a handheld session is not the same as preserving a permanent saved game.
A routine before demanding assignments
Early missions introduce particular vehicles and mechanics. They often require accurate control of a specified vehicle rather than additional firepower.
- Check health, armour and ammunition before a dangerous assignment. Keep a separate save before starting a longer strand.
- Choose a dependable car for ordinary travel. Motorcycle crashes cost health and time even when the radar route appears shorter.
- Read the displayed inputs when using a new vehicle. Forklifts, boats and motorcycles cannot all be controlled effectively with the same habits.
- Notice when a mission uses a fixed camera. If it does not rotate behind the vehicle, work from its visible heading rather than expecting forward travel to mean up the screen.
- During escort journeys, stay close enough to fulfil the objective while avoiding unnecessary contact. The required vehicle often has to survive all the way to its destination.
Businesses become relevant later
The empire system is a separate part of progression and is not fully available at the beginning. Once it matters, track locations, defence and associated activities rather than starting every available conflict simultaneously. PSP and PS2 share the core missions described here but use different bindings and contain some different extra activities. For forklift walkthroughs especially, follow the prompts in your edition. This page provides an introduction and selected solutions rather than a complete inventory of empire tasks. A little preparation before accepting a job is usually cheaper than replacing lost equipment after an avoidable failure.
