Before attacking: separate discovery from the timed run
Asuka offers Espresso-2-Go! at the Fort Staunton construction site after Bait. You must destroy nine Kappa coffee stalls. The eight-minute limit begins when the first stall is destroyed, rather than when the briefing ends. First visit all nine locations without attacking. Approaching a stall reveals it on the radar; an external city map is also useful in older releases without a large pause map. Avoid shooting stalls or nearby vehicles while scouting, since an unintended explosion can start the run early. Prepare armour and a dependable vehicle beforehand. Ray’s bulletproof Patriot from Marked Man is a useful option if you kept it, but it is not a prerequisite. A rocket launcher lets you attack from a distance; bring enough ammunition and plan clear firing angles.
All nine locations in this route’s order
These numbers identify our route, not an in-game numbering system. Newport’s courtyard stall is a separate location from the stall inside Belleville Park.
| No. | Island and district | Recognisable location |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Portland · Saint Mark’s | Opposite the approach to Salvatore’s mansion, by the entrance to the rooftop gardens/parking area. |
| 2 | Portland · Trenton | Across the street from the Portland Harbor entrance. |
| 3 | Staunton · Newport | In the adjoining courtyard beside the multistorey car park. Look for the courtyard approach, not the upper parking decks. |
| 4 | Staunton · Torrington | At the plaza with the star-shaped sculpture, near Kenji’s Casino. |
| 5 | Staunton · Bedford Point | The roadside stall by the bushes west of the Love Media building, separate from the church-front stall. |
| 6 | Staunton · Bedford Point | Immediately outside the church, on its street-facing side. |
| 7 | Staunton · Belleville Park | Inside the park, on the raised area beside a path towards its southwestern end. |
| 8 | Shoreside Vale · airport | At the top of the subway-entrance steps in front of Francis International Airport, by the statue plaza. |
| 9 | Shoreside Vale · Pike Creek | Immediately outside the hospital in southwestern Pike Creek. |
Step by step: Portland → Staunton → Shoreside Vale
This reverses iGrandTheftAuto’s published cross-city circuit. It supplies a repeatable order, not a guaranteed speedrun time. Practise the actual approaches and exits while revealing the stalls.
- After scouting, position yourself at stop 1 in Saint Mark’s with an open departure towards Trenton. Destroy the first stall and check the objective counter. Its confirmed destruction starts the clock.
- Head south to the Trenton harbor entrance and destroy stop 2. Leave Portland across Callahan Bridge towards Staunton. This clears Portland without requiring another timed return journey.
- On Staunton, take stop 3 in the Newport courtyard by the car park first. Use the entrance identified during scouting and leave immediately afterwards; do not search the parking ramps during the countdown.
- Work south along Staunton’s eastern side to the Torrington plaza and destroy stop 4 at the star sculpture. Before attacking, line your vehicle up for the onward journey towards Bedford Point.
- Clear the roadside stall west of Love Media, then the separate church-front stall: stops 5 and 6. Check the mission counter after each attack so you do not carry an uncompleted objective onwards.
- Continue north to southwestern Belleville Park for stop 7 beside the park path. Use the approach you found during discovery and return to the road rather than improvising an unfamiliar exit.
- Leave Staunton across Shoreside Lift Bridge, also called Staunton Lift Bridge. On Shoreside, head first for the airport plaza and destroy stop 8 at the subway entrance.
- Use the road connection from the airport area to Pike Creek hospital for stop 9. The ninth confirmed stall destruction completes the mission; you do not need to drive back to Asuka.
Attacking safely and understanding Portland’s danger
Ramming can destroy a stall quickly, but damages the car and can trap it against street furniture. With a poor approach, one controlled weapon attack is better than repeatedly reversing into the same obstacle. Get out at a safe distance for rockets and keep your own car clear of the blast. Do not fight a whole street group after the actual objective has already fallen. There is an important Mafia qualification: the original mission replaces their normal shotguns with Micro Uzis. Ordinary warnings about Saint Mark’s shotgun ambushes therefore should not be repeated unchanged for this assignment. It is still a poor place to stop unnecessarily: gunfire, armed Cartel stallholders and a ramming Cartel Cruiser can disrupt the run. The bulletproof Patriot also does not make every collision or explosion harmless.
Diagnose a failed attempt
Record the specific failure before repeating the route. Improving one troublesome approach is more useful than simply driving the same search faster.
| Problem | What to check next time |
|---|---|
| Only eight counted | Use the island totals: two on Portland, five on Staunton, two on Shoreside. Check the Newport courtyard versus Belleville Park and the two separate Bedford Point stalls. |
| A target remains after an attack | Its destruction did not register. Make a clean additional hit before leaving for the next island. |
| The car is smoking on Staunton | Reduce ramming and collisions. Plan a dependable replacement or service stop on the route you already scouted. |
| The clock runs during discovery | A stall has already been destroyed. Restart the assignment for a complete preparation lap and keep that lap free of attacks. |
| Time lost at island crossings | Practise the Callahan Bridge and lift-bridge approaches before destroying anything. Do not switch mid-run to an unfamiliar tunnel route. |
Cross-checked against original-game documentation and a Definitive Edition reference; no firsthand playtesting claimed. Landmarks identify the courtyard and church-area stalls where sources disagree on cardinal directions.
