All guides for The Ballad of Gay Tony ↗Learn the assignment first
Luis has his own story alongside Niko’s campaign. On your first attempt at a mission, take time to understand the route, your companions and any unfamiliar equipment. A perfect mission rating is a different goal from an initial successful completion. The replay system lets you return to specific requirements later, so you do not need to learn an unknown escape route while simultaneously chasing every optional target.
Heavy weapons need breathing room
The episode provides powerful weapons, but explosive ammunition and grenades can end an attempt in a confined staircase or beside a friend. Check where Tony, Armando or Henrique is standing before you fire. Building cover is more dependable than a vehicle that can catch fire under sustained attack. When an enemy is very close, a controllable firearm may be a better choice than an explosion that also blocks your own way out.
Prepare and look after companions
Restock health, armour and ammunition before an extended operation. During combat, treat the radar as guidance rather than a complete visual check: someone behind a doorway or on a roof can become apparent late. Clear the immediate area, reload and then let your companion catch up. A firefight ending does not necessarily end the assignment. If a drive remains, wait in the vehicle until all required passengers are aboard.
Ratings, progress and editions
Read the results after a mission and choose one concrete improvement for the next replay. An early attempt at a speed target can disrupt a cover route you have only just learned. Save ordinary story progress outside missions as well. These tips apply to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, including the PC Complete Edition. Input symbols can differ; our walkthroughs use mission names and actions rather than one assumed button sequence. They cover Luis’s story, not GTA Online or a promise of a perfect score.
