Availability and the change of roles
Clean and Serene opens The Lost and Damned. You control Johnny Klebitz; completing Niko’s GTA IV campaign beforehand is not required. After Billy Grey leaves rehabilitation, he initially sits behind Johnny on the Hexer. Johnny leads the ride while the other Lost follow. This matters: during the opening journeys, you should not search for Billy riding ahead. The arrangement changes after the fight. Once Billy recovers his Revenant, he rides in front and Johnny follows. Drive steadily and read each new instruction after a scene. A location you already visited does not necessarily remain your destination once the conversation has changed the objective.
1. Reach the clubhouse and chop shop
The opening rides lead from the pickup to the Acter clubhouse, then to Bohan. These are journeys with a passenger rather than motorcycle races.
- Ride with Billy as your passenger to the Lost clubhouse on Berners Road in Acter, Alderney. Brake before tight bends and avoid collisions: Johnny, his motorcycle and Billy must survive the journey.
- Enter the yellow destination marker and allow the clubhouse conversation to finish. The next instruction sends you to the chop shop; arriving at the clubhouse alone does not complete the introduction.
- Take the marked route to Bohan with Billy aboard. The GPS journey passes through other districts and the necessary connections. Keep a clear line instead of forcing the bike between oncoming traffic and bridge barriers.
- Reach Pretty Boy’s chop shop and enter its objective marker. Let the scene reveal the next location. You do not need to attack the owner independently outside the scene to obtain extra information.
2. Rusty Schit Salvage: preserve the target bike
The new lead points to Rusty Schit Salvage in Northwood, northwestern Algonquin, where Angels of Death have Billy’s motorcycle. Prepare for the change from city riding to a group firefight as you approach. Leave Johnny’s bike somewhere you can return to after the encounter. The sawed-off shotgun works well at close range. A distant opponent is not a reason to sprint across the exposed yard. Use solid objects and corners to reduce the distance in stages. Explosions can hit enemies but also endanger the Revenant and your own gang. Check what stands behind your target as well as the person you intend to shoot.
Step by step: fight and return ride
Watch the radar, objective text and the gang’s movements. The recovery continues after the required encounter.
- Reach the indicated Angels of Death location and let the encounter begin. Dismount when you can establish a controlled position rather than riding directly between the opponents.
- Deal with the marked attackers and watch for further arrivals. Reload behind protection. Keep shots away from Billy’s motorcycle and move clear of burning vehicles.
- Once no immediate attacker blocks a useful weapon pickup, you can collect ammunition. This prepares you for the return and later jobs; it is not a separate completion objective.
- Wait for Billy to take his Revenant and for the follow instruction. Return to Johnny’s Hexer and identify Billy through his blue marker rather than choosing an arbitrary gang member ahead.
- Follow Billy back toward Acter. Use the displayed Lost badge to join formation when it appears. Maintain a steady gap: colliding with the leader undoes the benefit of a tidy formation.
- Stay with the group until the clubhouse arrival and let the final scene and clubhouse introduction finish. Only then move on to the next offered mission strands.
Use formation sensibly
The formation feature can improve Johnny’s health and repair his damaged motorcycle. Move toward the displayed badge rather than treating it as a stationary GPS destination: it travels with the convoy. There is no need to manufacture repeated swerves or constant lane changes to force it. An uninterrupted formation record is not a separate gold-medal requirement here. Preserving the motorcycle, looking after the passenger and completing the return come first. If a crash leaves you behind, recover, remount and catch up on a clear straight. Cutting aggressively through the next corner often produces a second crash instead of recovering the lost time.
Troubleshooting
Check the current mission instruction before deciding the whole assignment needs to be restarted.
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| I cannot find Billy ahead of me. | Before recovery, he rides behind Johnny as a passenger. He only leads on his own bike during the final return. |
| Nothing completes after the clubhouse visit. | The chop shop and Angels of Death encounter still remain. Check the updated yellow destination. |
| Billy has not taken his motorcycle. | Look for remaining marked opponents and new arrivals. Do not simply leave on another motorcycle. |
| The motorcycle being recovered was destroyed. | The recovery has failed. Restart and keep gunfire or explosions away from that mission vehicle. |
| I lose the group on the return. | Use Billy’s blue radar marker and rejoin. The earlier chop-shop destination is no longer your objective. |
FAQ, saving and editions
Do I need to purchase extra equipment first? The introduction supplies the basic means for its objectives; a particular expensive weapon is not required. Must I personally ride Billy’s motorcycle home? No. After recovery, Billy leads on his bike and Johnny follows on his own. After completion, save at the clubhouse bed once the explanation finishes. Then check phone calls and map letters: Billy’s strand and Jim’s first assignment become available. This mission guide applies to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, including the PC Complete Edition. Aiming assistance and input mappings vary; follow your edition’s action prompts. The route focuses on normal completion without requiring modifications or mission skips.
Source research compares the strategy guide, mission-specific documentation and recorded gameplay; no personal playthrough is claimed. Billy’s initial passenger role and later lead position are separated. No exact enemy count or speed target is assumed.
